DAY 843

DAY 843 pupdate on Tugg:
Halloween. The sun was barely starting to set and there were already lines of children up and down the street waiting for the trick-or-treating to begin, and lines of older kids, young adults and parents waiting for the haunted house and zombie shoot-em-up to start.
Tugg walked down the hall, clapped twice and called out, "Places everyone!" Then Tugg went to the wall of TVs he had gathered together to watch the storm coverage and turned them all on. Each screen was filled with the same paused image — an image of an illustrated pumpkin, with the words "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" written across it. After the Great Pumpkin, other films were waiting to play, including: The Nightmare Before Christmas, Young Frankenstein, Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Pooh's Heffalump Halloween Movie, Monsters Inc. and Ghostbusters.
Then Tugg said, "It's go time!"
Tugg hit the play button on the remote control, and flung open the front door. There were cheers and clapping from all around.
Tugg said, "Welcome to our not so scary haunted house! This year we have a great spooky tour for all ages! If you're looking for the scary stuff, go ahead around to the Zombie Shoot-em-up! It's around back! OH, and be sure to get some candy out of the cast iron kettles on the way out, BUT be sure not to let any of the monsters in the grave yard have any! They aren't supposed to have chocolate!"
1 photo today.

We decided to get in some early trick-or-treating, before our haunted house and zombie shoot-em-up started, so Ajaxx and I got on our basketball outfits and got ready to go door-to-door! AND, just to get us started, my friends Brenda and Charlie sent us these great Frankeweenie trick-or-treat bags! AND Bubbles and her mommy and daddy sent us some cookies to get started too! Here we are, all set to go! Thank you everyone for the great treats!
I hope everyone is safe out there today on Halloween! Get lots of candy and have lots of fun, but most of all, be safe!
Happy Halloween!

DAY 840

DAY 840 pupdate on Tugg:
Ajaxx walked down the hall, wearing a pink tutu, carrying a tray with a teapot, three cups and some cookies. Naturally, we followed to see what was going on.
In the living room, sitting at the small round table was Tugg, his new little someone special, and Ajaxx — all wearing pink tutus. Each had a teacup in front of them, and each picked up their own cup and took a sip. Tugg set the example and convinced everyone to hold out their pinky-paw while sipping the tea.
The trio saw us and Tugg said, "Oh, hi! She wanted to have a tea party, so we're having one! After we're done here we're going to practice our cheers for the bicycle ride Team Tugg is going to do on November 3rd! You know, the Team is riding in the Mineola Metric Century bicycle ride! Of course, anyone who is in the area and wants to ride too, can still register and ride! We'll cheer for them too!"

DAY 837

DAY 837 pupdate on Tugg:
Tugg walked through the front door carrying a small bundle. We watched as Tugg went to the living room, whispered something in Ajaxx' ear and headed toward his workshop. Ajaxx rolled over, got off the couch, and went to the workshop too. A few minutes later, Tugg came in to where we were and said, "Where do we keep those little pouches of soft food? I, uh, need one for an experiment."
We told him where they were and waited until he had gotten one and gone back to his workshop. Then we peeked in the door to see what was going on.
There, still wrapped in the bundle, although on the floor now, was a very small border collie eating out of the bowl Tugg had gotten with the soft food.
Tugg and Ajaxx both saw us and Tugg said, "I don't know her name yet, because she is just eating, and she was so weak because she hasn't eaten in a while, so I didn't ask her yet!"
Ajaxx smiled really big and said, "Isn't she cute, eh!?"
4 photos today.

Sharing this again, for anyone who didn't see it when I announced it on Monday:

I just had an idea for a special video project! If you would like to be part of it, all you have to do is take a short video of you (or your doggies, kitties or people or people puppies or whoever you want in it, as long as you include your voice talking) telling me one (or more) of these things:

1) How you first found me, and what you thought.
2) If I inspire you in any way, and how.
3) If I have helped you in any way.
4) What I mean to you.
5) Anything you just want to tell me.

Take a short video (anything under minute is great), and e-mail the video clip to me at my e-mail: tugg@didyaq.com

I need to have the video clips by next week (Let's just say Monday, Oct. 29), in order to get my editor friend to help me put them together, so get out your camera (or phone) and send me a little video!

I wuff you!

Remember yesterday when I told you that you can't help everyone, but that everyone can help someone?! Well, I would like you to meet my someone for today! I don't know her name yet, because I just brought her home today! She is really, really skinny, though you can't really tell in the photos. I don't think she has eaten in a while... so I fed her right away!

Yep, she's really small too! Even though she is about 6-months-old, she only weighs about 6 pounds! That's really small for a border collie at 6 months! I think whatever people left her alone didn't leave any food for her or her sister. Unfortunately, her sister didn't make it, BUT, I'm going to do everything I can to get her better!

Isn't she cute? She is so tiny! But, mommy and daddy said I was really tiny when I first came home too, so she can still grow and catch up to her real size! She doesn't know her name, and I haven't thought of a name for her yet, but I'm sure we'll think of something — and it will be unique like her! Eventually, after I help get her better, she will be available for adoption through www.bcrescuetexas.org !

DAY 830

DAY 830 pupdate on Tugg:
Tugg wheeled our bikes out to the workshop and put them up on the mechanics stand. We asked why he was tuning up the bikes today since we were just doing a training ride today.
Tugg said, "No, it's not just any training ride today! We're going to ride to Nicky D's Crowley, so we can have a really good lunch! I think I'll have the grilled chicken sandwich and some onion rings! You do know that they have been voted many times for having the best burgers and onion rings, right!?"
Tugg thought for a minute and added, "You know, they are one of our Team Tugg sponsors! They also said that if any of my friends come in for lunch and mention that I sent them in will GET A 10% DISCOUNT! So be sure to tell everyone to go there for the best burgers around AND get a 10% discount for telling them that Tugg sent you!"
1 photo and 1 illustration today.
